Cool site/ Package design

This site has an ungodly amount of package designs from around the world. You can search by category....pet food..games..etc.
OR click random items to browse a little bit of everything. I don't want to think about how much time could be spent on this site.

Final 2 companies

As assigned, I have narrowed down my selection to two stores that would be good candidates for identity recreation.

1) Bound to be Read Books

Located in East Atlanta Village, Bound to be Read Books is the exemplification of your cozy neighborhood bookstore. I appreciate the dual meaning in the shops name and think this could be condusive to a clever logo. Their current logo does not match the feeling that is typically associated with the comfortable, friendly atmosphere of an independent bookstore. Their logo looks more like a ransom note.

Buzz words:
cozy
comfortable
personal
inviting
relaxed
slow paced
nostalgic

2) Finders Keepers

Located in Avondale Estates, Finders Keepers is a local consignment shop with a wide reputation. Although you may have to dig for a treasure, it's well worth it when you find one. The storefront boasts a large sign with its namesake in ornate gothic purple and gold lettering. The sign facing the road has a clip art dress on top of fat pastel stripes. Readability is a little difficult. The name of this company is also inspiring and requires a quick, perhaps almost humorous logo.

Buzz words:
feminine
diamond in the rough
fast paced
hectic
endless possibilities
surprise around every corner

Logos. Some bad, some good.

Bad!

Alright. The Cyndy Esty logo ( the handbag one)..
First mistake. Papyrus.
Second mistake..
everything else.

rerc on AMI
This was designed for a logo competition. Although I found information on the competition itself, I never did figure out what rerc on AMI was. That might help in deciphering this puzzle of a logo. Doubtful.
The white space underneath the arc is awkward. My eye gets stuck in it. Also, the type relationships don't seem well thought out. The whole thing is just stagnant and weird.

Studentsforbc.ca
What is going on on the left side?
Why is everything contained in a nice rectangle except for one strange orange blob?

MIT Musical Theatre Guild
wow.

Bloated Fish Concrete Works
This looks like something that would be on the back of a cheesy restaraunt T-shirt.. from Destin.
Concrete?

Good!

WWF
Aww. Animals are cute! Alright, silliness aside.. it does everything you need a logo to do. Readable..scalable..blah blah blah.
I like the openness/ vacancy Kuyper created. Yes, it's a panda and its cute.. but the abscence of eyes and the general kind of ghostly feel I get from it plays on the sense urgency that I think WWF was going for.. without being dramatic.
subtle. nice.

Everybody loves TiVo!
TiVo's whole deal is making TV personal. Instead of focusing on the fact that it's a new exciting technology and trying to make the logo futuristic, the designer chose a more relatable approach. He gave the TV box legs to represent that TiVo goes and gets the programming for you. The character is like a friendly little tv nymph that would love nothing more than to go fetch your daily fix of Sex and the City. It plays on the cartooney kid/family look without appearing dumbed down or elementary. Even if you don't like the way it looks, I think it would be hard to deny its effectivity.

The Islands of the Bahamas
The old logo for the Bahamas was used very inconsistently. Colors, shapes, and fonts were all changed on a whim depending on the medium. This total redesign looks fabulous in any instance. Each little colored piece represents one island. If you are looking into a specific island on the website, the other shapes turn grey and your interest is displayed front and center. The colored pieces are also great because they play up what is really special about the Bahamas as a vacation spot. The department of tourism wanted to know.. How can we stand out from every other warm, tropical hotspot? Mexico, California, Puerto rico... they all have great sun, sand, and fun. A logo with a palm tree and some sand simply would not do. The new logo shows that each sect... each little island.. is a different experience. The T-shirts look awesome too.

Am I Collective
Agency that wants to inject the advertising world with fresh, polished work. At least that's what their website says.
It just really says ..we prod our brains..we're creative and weird..but clean.
to me..yeah.

G4
The one on the left was earlier in development...right is completed.
Speaks to their target audience.
I can't think of a better logo for a videogame channel. Magic!

Amusing! ( I'm very mature)

haha! those people are doing it!

( It's supposed to say megaflicks)
